N' Stuff - Special Guest - Kari Jones
We
had the great opportunity once again to have a special guest on our Sports
N' Stuff program. We call her Coach Jones and to the rest of you, you may
call her Kari Jones. Coach Jones is the epitome of what a true athlete,
coach, and mentor is. Many people say it's the love of the game it’s the
passion that drives her. Well, if you've ever had the gracious opportunity
to have Coach Jones as your mentor, teammate, or as your coach you
understand what hard work really is! On and off the court she always strived
to keep your head in the game of 'life', it was easy to give up but she
helped you understand that success and becoming great was not easily
obtained; you had to learn that time, hard work, and perseverance were the
things that were going to help you obtain success. She was and will continue
to be one of the "Greatest", with holding the record with most field goals
in one game at 28; in 1977 she was named the 1A state player of the year and
Kansas Female Athlete of the Year; she led Skyline to the 1974 and 1977
state crowns; she held the 1A high jump mark from 1977-1993. Those alone are
just a few of the merits Coach Jones has to her name. So Coach Jones a thank
you is what we bid you for all your continued success and hard work, you
have forever changed the lives of many students and athletes! Thank You…
We had the great opportunity to have
Melissa Malamut author of She's Got Game- The Woman's Guide to Loving Sports
on our one hour live Sports N' Stuff program.
MELISSA MALAMUT has worked in PR for the
NHL and the PGA of America. She was Editor-in-Chief of
Touchdown Illustrated magazine
and a researcher for
ESPN The Magazine and ESPN Books. She held a weekly sports beat for
Tribune newspapers while simultaneously working as a beauty editor for an
upstart fashion magazine. Malamut has been writing sports, beauty, fashion
and lifestyle pieces for 10 years. Melissa is from Sunrise, FL and now lives
in
New York City

like to share it with the rest of our listening audience, to

Numana
& the 2010 Miss Kansas Contestants
In
2010 once again KMMM had the privilege to be a part of a great community
event that was called Numana Inc. which. is a nonprofit hunger relief
organization with the mission to empower people to save the starving.
Through meal packaging events, Numana sends food to countries where intense
insecurity exists. For the first time Pratt was a packaging event location
for the Harvest for Haiti campaign. Our station manager had the privelege to
have the 2010 Miss Kansas contestants help record all of the announcements
in our community. Helping out with such a great cause was undeniably
priceless, our station manager Lisa and intern Raul where able to be a part
of such an amazing community event of which we are thankful to the
individuals who made this possible! Below is all the information that was
promoted to our listening audience:
