Program Director - Carl Raida

C

Carl Raida has been with KWLS since 1987. His experience as an on air personality in radio began in 1971. He began his career as a DJ for KDEN-Am in Denver, Colorado and has been with stations in Rapid City, South Dakota: Windsor, Colorado: Twin Falls, Idaho: and Waterloo, Iowa markets before finding his home at KWLS in Pratt. His knowledge and love for music has kept him interested in radio, and he dazzles our listeners with his humor, wisdom and knowledge.

Before graduating from the Columbia School of Broadcasting in 1970, Raida served four years in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Corporal E-4 with a position of Assistant Battalion Administrative Chief at the time he was honorably discharged.

Carl continuously takes pride in his work. The Idaho State Broadcasters Association voted Raida's 10-hour special program "The Top 100 Hits of the Seventies: as 'Best Entertainment Program of the Year'. That program aired on KLIX in Twin Falls on New Years Day in 1980.

Today Carl continues to do what he does best. He is the voice representing our station, keeping our listeners updated with local information and the latest weather...while sharing those great musical memories with the biggest hits of the 50'S, 60'S, and 70's, here on Superhits 1290....KWLS!
